R & D

We need the new technologies coming on stream. Times are a-changing. We need to be aware of them in order to benefit from advances.
Research Projects for Development

We are investigating at the moment areas in biosafe non-GMO feedstock technology, convert starch and its unique enzyme reactor technology and the economics of isopentenol  renewable energy source (from E. coli, as we speak) to larger scale-up production in particular with researchers in the U.S.A.

Crop Breeding

There is now interest and concern in common wheat "rust" and GMO technology by gene deletion on acquiring disease resistance. Without continued work in this front, the wheat "rust" blight races that mutate quickly threaten to wipe out the wheat crop if continued unchecked unless with new wheat resistant varieties.

Upcoming techniques that are molecular and for breeding for wheat include: transgenesis (GMO), MAS for breeding, cisgenesis, intragenesis, manipulating plant resistance using RdDM (RNA-dependent DNA methylation) and double haploid construction for desired dominant alleles are currently in discussion.

Automation with Robotics

Automation is key to continued success. Harvesters, storage, feed processing, weather predicting equipment, logistical handling computational equipment  with hardware and software (e. g. reproduction, feeding, production, and health records and all logistical supplies) on farm, can be used with the added benefits these technologies.

Another e. g. of semi-automation are hovering drones for applying precision agriculture techniques as in pesticide, herbicide and water application based on remote sensing.
